      The Department of Scientific Affairs plays a prominent role in the University of Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (p). It is a basic formation that consists of a scientific committee that works with wide powers. This department puts policies for the development of scientific research and the administrative system alike. It provides support to teachers in terms of saving time for them, and reducing administrative efforts on them, in order to remove obstacles from the of scientific research career. Department of Scientific Affairs are:

1. Consolidating and supporting scientific research and its development in general.

2. Upgrading scientific research towards international standards to ensure the achievement of distinction for the university.

3. Awareness of solid international databases and journals with high impact factor.

4. Providing training courses on how to publish in databases according to the approved mechanisms.

5. Publishing at least one scientific product annually for each teacher in the global accounts.

6. Holding annual conferences.

7. Attracting and appointing researchers to benefit from their experiences at the University.

8. Concluding agreements with the beneficiaries of the research and conducting joint cooperation in the interest of the University.

9. Providing research scholarships for distinguished researchers to various countries of the world.

10. Providing material and moral support to researchers, for the purpose of encouraging interest in scientific research.
