Scientific Promotions Department

The Department was established on the first of February 2021, and it is the first department concerned with the affairs of scientific promotions in private universities, for the purpose of organizing a mechanism and following up the transactions of scientific promotions for the professors of Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (p) University in all its colleges and branches.

The Academic Promotions Department consists of:

• Director of the Academic Promotions Department.

• The Academic Promotions Committee, consisting of ten members with the rank of Professor in various scientific disciplines.

• Electronic Plagiarism Committee

• The staff of the Academic Promotions Department consists of: University staff who hold postgraduate degrees, master's and doctoral degrees.

Vision

The Department means to support the scientific capabilities in the colleges of the universities and their branches so that the University is in the ranks of the advanced universities in the national classification in terms of the continuity of teaching in the gradation with the scientific title.

Objectives

1. The department aims to speed up the completion of scientific promotion transactions with high scientific accuracy by coordinating efforts with the Academic Promotions Committee in our University and the Central Promotions Committee at Al-Iraqia University to follow up and issue University orders for teachers.

2. Enhancing scientific research and its outcomes at the University by circulating periodicals from local, Arab and international journals for discreet scientific publication and avoiding predatory journals.

3. Enhancing scientific activities by opening the doors of cooperation with qualified professors from all disciplines for the purpose of evaluating the research outcomes of the University professors.

4. Organizing the work in accordance with the principles, instructions and controls issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with regard to academic promotions.

5. Supervising the work of the Academic Promotions Committee through:

- Providing the appropriate place for the meeting and maintaining the confidentiality of information related to the transactions of the teachers. 

- Holding and following up the periodic monthly meetings of the Committee.

- Following up on the instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Promotions Committee at Al-Iraqia University.

- Endorsing the experts’ answers and recommending the award of promotion in coordination with the Central Promotions Committee at Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (p) University.
